Prefect
I was invested as 1 out of the 6 Charnock House Prefects at the beginning of the new academic session this year. It was a dream come true - a post I had dreamed of ever since I went to class 6. I was elected for my niche in public speaking activities and all-round academic performance throughout middle and high school. I was entrusted with leadership roles wherein I had to conduct selections for various inter-house activities like debating, elocution, chess, cricket for middle and senior school students. I was also entrusted with a disciplinary role wherein I had to ensure discipline in the assembly to ensure everyone is well-dressed, on the staircase after break time to ensure there’s no ruckus, and after school to ensure everyone has left the school safely. Monitoring classes at the same time enabled and mobilised me with a special skill-set from a very early age - the skill of handling and managing people without coming off as arrogant. Supervising people from my same batch and of the same age as me really helped me with my management skills as I came across tricky situations which involved my friends which exposed me to the intricacies of being a leader.
Science Club
The journey started in middle school when my love for science allowed me to take part in and win science fairs. My model on “hydroponic gardening" won 1st prize in Eastern India’s largest science exhibition for students of our age category. As I continued to contribute to the club, I was announced as a Core Committee Member of the Science Club. I was made in-charge of the Mathematics Department. For the first time ever, the mathematics department received more projects than all other departments did. I was highly disappointed to see such a poor turnout of students last year in the Mathematics Department. Hence, I took it upon myself to encourage students to make projects in Math. We received the highest number of project submissions in the history of the science fair.

Heritage Club
I was elected as a Core Committee Member of the Heritage Club of the school which explores the heritage of the school and city. Seeing so many peers disrespect the culture and heritage of the city and school, I took it upon myself to revive the love students have for their surroundings. I started a concept known as “Art Corner” where students were required to draw a sketch of any historical corner of the school. This led many students to know more about the heritage and culture of the school and sparked an interest in knowing more and doing more for the school. Moreover, I also organised field trips to places of heritage. One of the most memorable projects was the trip organised to Kolkata Wetlands - our city’s unexplored pride.
